Gilpen, Boulder and Golden area forest landowners:

A notice from Wes Isenhart, forest landowner and member of the Gilpin County Citizens Initiative:

1.  The Gilpin County Citizens Initiative (GCCI) will hold a special Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, February 26th at the Gilpin County Public Library at 7 PM. The public is welcome to attend and a public comment period will take place at 7:05 PM.

2.  On Monday March 2nd there will be a hearing in Boulder regarding the sorting yard proposed near Nederland.  The meeting will be from 5-8pm on the third floor of the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl Street (downtown Boulder).  The Boulder County commissioners will hear recommendations regarding site placement from staff and listen to public comment regarding the matter.

3.  A Wildfire Symposium is scheduled for Saturday March 14th from 1-4pm at the Community Center.  Irene Shonle will be the presenter and requests an RSVP for those attending 303 582-9106.  This is an in depth presentation of ways that owners can protect their property from wildfire.  See attached flyer.  Citizens are encouraged to take the county CWPP survey at http://www.extension.colostate.edu/gilpin/.  The link to the survey is halfway down the page.

4.  Monday March 16th has a state of the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic presentation in Golden by the Colorado Tree Farmers association.  It is an informational meeting and discussion of ways that owners can implement a pest management program for their property.  They would like an RSVP by March 1st at 303-279-9757 x.310.  See attached flyer.
